HEALTH FUND ACCREDITED
Meet the Collingwood team members:
Matthew Alexander
Matthew
is obsessed. He knows his stuff, and he loves it. From a long history
of personal injuries & frustration at not getting results from health
care professionals, Matthew became determined to fill in the blanks, and
unlock the key to eliminating pain. With a background in performing &
circus arts, yoga, running and cycling, he has gleaned a clear understanding
of what the body needs to be 100% regardless of whether you need to sit
comfortably at a desk all day for work, do triple pirouettes 10m's up
or just something vaguely in between.
Matthew's specialty area is the '10 year lower back', migraines and headaches,
knee & shoulder rehabilitation.
'You need balance, you need strength, you need to reclaim control
of your body. This does not involve 2 days of pain relief, 10 exercises
daily, and the felling you're paying for someone's yacht just trying to
get a little bit of relief.' .
Daniel Rodgers
Daniel
specialises in eradicating pain in patients when all other modalities
have failed. Back Pain and Shoulder pain are Daniel's specialities, however
he has fantastic results treating all kinds of pain and dysfunction throughout
the body using the same wholistic approach to treatment. Pain and dysfunction
is only present when there are imbalances. Restoring symmetry to the human
body will insure correct functioning is restored and pain eradicated.
Daniel carries this process out through deep tissue treatment and myofacial
release. In more chronic cases, symmetry is restored through a combination
of hands on treatment and strengthening exercises that address the cause
of the pain not just the symptoms.
Daniel has a sports background in Australian Rules Football, Rugby and Basketball.
Roles other than working in clinic include working with the AFL team Western
Bulldogs, A-League Soccer Team Melbourne Heart and working with International
athletes.
Moyan Phillips
Moyan
is passionate about treating soft tissue dysfunction and encouraging an
active lifestyle. Her background in state level athletics fostered her
interest in biomechanics and muscular injury with a particular focus in
the treatment of athletes. She has worked with various football and soccer
clubs throughout Melbourne, including the Western Bulldogs and Essendon,
gaining first hand experience of the effectiveness of soft tissue treatment
when performed in conjunction with exercise.
Moyan has a special interest in deep tissue treatment that eradicates chronic
headaches, shoulder pain and SIJ dysfunction. However she is specialised in
reducing pain and muscular dysfunction throughout all soft tissue within the
body and combines thorough anatomical knowledge and intuition to ensure she
conducts the highest of quality treatments.
Outside of working at Melbourne Muscular Therapies Moyan teaches within the
Myotherapy department at RMIT University and also works with the Melbourne Storm
Rugby League Club.
Brooke Chiller
Brooke is extremely passionate about staying active, carrying out a healthy
lifestyle and is inspired by helping others to achieve the same benefits.
Playing tennis at an international level has allowed her great insight
in what it takes to overcome injuries and treat athletes in a well grounded
manner. Brooke is also extremely dedicated to helping people overcome
chronic and acute injures with a holistic approach to health and treatment.
Through Brooke's own experiences and working with the MMT team she has
established a unique way in assisting people to become aware of their
own bodies, empowering people to learn to read what their symptoms really
mean.
